Chamber Members Help Defeat Onerous Employee Notification Bill
Mon, February 1, 2010

Strong grassroots response and direct lobbying combined to help turn back an onerous employee notification proposal that had been scheduled to be debated by the full legislature. LB 107 would have required notice and consultation in cases of public employee terminations. The bill in original form would apply to private employers as well. Sen. Ken Haar, the main proponent of the legislation, cited overwhelming response from the business sector as one of the reasons he pulled his bill from consideration.
